Warehouse Epoxy Flooring

Tough, beautiful, long lasting

While a warehouse floor doesn’t need to be glamorous, it does need to be resilient, easy to clean, and able to withstand heavy loads. Spills, cracked concrete, and other issues don’t just create safety hazards; they also cause damage to the concrete substrate that will lead to costly shutdowns, repairs, and replacement. Warehouses require industrial-strength flooring that can meet the demands of heavy loads and vehicle traffic.
At Advanced Epoxy Flooring, we install specialized epoxy warehouse floor coatings formulated to withstand heavy loads and other hazards in a warehouse setting. We serve Lansing, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids and surrounding communities with dedicated industrial epoxy flooring systems that perform better than traditional industrial floor solutions.

Choosing the Right Epoxy Flooring for Warehouse Floors

Wide variety of options to choose from

A warehouse requires an industrial-strength flooring system that can withstand impacts and heavy loads without damage or wear. To help you choose the right warehouse floor epoxy solution that will be the best fit for your site, consider the following.
  • Does your facility have a battery room? Industrial epoxy floor coatings with electrostatic dissipative and conductive properties can protect sensitive electronics and reduce the risk with potentially explosive materials.
  • Do you need an acid-resistant epoxy flooring system?
  • Will company visitors tour the warehouse? This can help determine the appearance of your warehouse flooring.
  • What are your company’s cleaning and maintenance protocols? The right warehouse floor epoxy can make cleaning and maintenance easier and more efficient. Advanced Epoxy Flooring can customize your epoxy flooring during installation to meet your specific cleaning needs.
  • How many loading docks do you have?
  • Does your warehouse have damp floors or require continuous refrigeration? This will determine the right industrial epoxy flooring solution as we can use a floor coating that can cure in cold temperatures or damp conditions

FAQ

Have a question about installing industrial epoxy flooring in your Detroit warehouse? Here are a few commonly asked questions from our clients.

What types of epoxy floors are there?
We offer a huge array of industrial warehouse floor coatings to fit any application. While traditional floor coatings are applied 3 mils thick, our industrial systems may be 7 to 250 mils thick. We will help you develop a custom coating solution to fit your requirements. Epoxy floors can be customized in dozens of ways with various colors and additives. For example, we offer standard and low VOC formulations, nonskid wear additives, electrostatic dissipative and conductive epoxy, antimicrobial treatments, and more.
Can I know how long the floors last?
Several factors influence the expected lifespan of warehouse floor epoxy. The strength of the underlying concrete floor is important as is surface preparation. The thickness of the epoxy, the quality of the topcoat, exposure to UV light, and the level of foot and vehicular traffic also play big roles in the lifespan of an epoxy installation. As a general rule, you can expect a long-lasting and durable flooring solution that lasts many years.
While residential epoxy can last 15 to 30 years, industrial settings are subjected to higher rates of foot and vehicular traffic, spills, and other forms of damage that can wear down the epoxy faster. In most cases, industrial epoxy flooring lasts 5 to 10 years but it can last longer. When epoxy warehouse floor coatings wear down, a new topcoat can be applied to fully restore the floor system.
Is there any preparation before installing a floor?
Yes, surface preparation is one of the most important components for a long-lasting epoxy floor that performs well. The concrete surface must be free of damage, liquids, stains, and dust prior to epoxy installation. Any previous floor coatings must also be removed in most cases. Some coatings are compatible, in which case a new topcoat can be applied.
If your concrete floor has issues like uneven areas or irregularities that can cause safety hazards, we will take the time to fix them. Obvious cracks, including joints, must be filled and repaired. A diamond grinder may be used to roughen the surface of the concrete substrate depending on your epoxy system. Only once the surface is properly repaired and texturized will we finish with a deep cleaning that removes residues, debris, and dust that could be trapped under the coating, leave visible marks, or interfere with bonding.
